Post Partum Support

In the Post Partum period your Doula provides care to help ease the transition from pregnancy to Parenting. She is there to answer questions about your newborn as well as facilitate: Proper latch on and breastfeeding technique, care of the umbilicus, bathing, trimming baby's nails, prepare healthful meals, listen to your concerns, answer your questions, make sure you have accurate breastfeeding as well as related resource information. If the Doula cannot answer any of your questions, we will work to gather the information you require or put you in touch with someone who can. She will also tend to the needs of the household: organizing Baby basics, laundry, shopping etc.

We take pride in providing a wide variety of Post Partum Support Services, including:

  • Lactation Support, Instruction and Troubleshooting
  • Mother Care
  • Newborn Care
  • Organization of Baby Basics
  • Sibling Care
  • Whole Food Food Counseling, Shopping and Preparation
  • Shopping and Errands
  • Laundry

Your Doula is Guide, Mentor and Companion. Her expertise is in Mothering the Mother. She will work side by side to support you as your own unique, emergent parenting instinct unfolds and develops. The Doula usually spends 3-5 hours a day with your Family over the course of 2-3 weeks. Consult with the Doula to choose what is best for your Family's individual needs. Although 15 hours is the approximate average per week, we do not adhere to a weekly minimum but do have a daily minimum of at least 3 hours. This is to insure the observation of Baby nursing at least two (2) times so as to assess breastfeeding circumstance and troubleshoot any problems.
